When are your next enrollment periods?Please contact the admissions team to find out when the next available start date is as availability changes frequently. We recommend you apply for the program at least 12 months before your desired start date. 3. How do I apply?To apply to the Aveda Institute Toronto you must submit the following to the attention of the Admissions Office at 125 King Street East, Toronto, ON, M5C 1G6.
4. Is there an application deadline?We have what is called a rolling admissions acceptance, which means that there are no deadlines to apply. Once the application process is complete, the Registrar will review your application to ensure that you have met all of the admissions requirements, and that you are a good candidate for the program. If you are accepted into the program, you will be sent an offer of admission and two student contracts. You must return both copies of your signed contracts to the Admissions Office to be officially enrolled in the program. 5. Do you assist with the job placement of graduates?There is a tremendous need within our national network of Aveda salons for experienced staff that understands the fundamentals of Aveda salon services. We can help you get a head start on your career with career fairs and professional development days. Upon graduation if you are not already placed we will assist you until you are successfully placed. 6. How do I become a licensed hairstylist after I graduate the program?To receive a hairstyling diploma in the province of Ontario, you need to complete 1500 hours of classroom/practical instruction and complete an in-salon apprenticeship in order to write the hairdressing license exam. Do you offer financial aid?The Aveda Institute Toronto has partnered with RBC Financial Group to provide potential students with a variety of financial support options at preferred rates, including the Royal Line of Credit for students, Student Banking Accounts or Student Classic VISA cards. What is the program schedule?We currently offer only full-time programs. Classes are conducted Tuesday through Saturday 8:30am-5:30 pm. 9. Do you assist with housing?The Aveda Institute Toronto can assist students in finding suitable housing by referring them to local apartment/housing rental resources. We will assist students with the search for a safe location and reasonable rent price. 10. Do you accept transfer students?Transfers from other institutions will not be considered except in the event that the student is transferring from another Aveda Institute. In this instance, applicants for transfer are assessed on an individual basis. Transfer students are subject to the same admissions procedures as new students. (Please refer to #3. How do I apply) In addition, submission of an official transcript from your former institution stating hours accumulated and topics covered is required. The Aveda Institute Toronto may, at its discretion, refuse transfers if admission requirements cannot be met. 11. Is there a uniform?Yes. Maintaining a professional appearance is vital to success. The Aveda Institute Toronto requires all students to wear solid black pants, black long-sleeved t-shirt and closed-toed shoes. The Aveda Institute Toronto will provide each student with an Institute t-shirt and apron that must be worn during all classroom and clinic floor hours.
